It is a good idea after installing all rings on the pistons to recheck each ring on each piston for correct installation.

Install oil ring support rails on the bottom of the oil ring groove with the antirotational locking detent facing downward. Oil expander tabs face up as shown below. Place the ring squarely into the piston groove taking care to keep it flat. Push the rod and piston out through the top of the cylinder.

Rotate the oil ring support rail until antirotational locking detent falls between the opening at intersection of ring groove and wrist pin hole. We recommend approximately 030 back clearance with our oil rings. Pistons intended for the right bank will feature an r suffix. One two piece oil rings.

The dot or marking on each ring always faces up. Please note that all three mm or narrower oil rings regardless of brand work best with split. Rings with a groove in the outside diameter and a pip mark or dot on the side must be installed with the groove toward the bottom of the piston and pip mark towards the top of the piston.
